Yoga refers to a group of mental, physical, and spiritual practices aimed at integrating the mind and body, first developed in India early in the first millennium BCE.1 Modern day research shows that yoga is effective at helping practitioners better focus their attention, combat stress, and intentionally regulate the sympathetic and parasympathetic aspects of their nervous systems.2,3 Yoga can also be an effective adjunct in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and addictions.2,3
This drop-in group is free and open to all current Reed students. No previous yoga experience is necessary, and all body types are welcome! Please arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to settle in for the session, and wear clothes that are comfortable to move in.
Time/Date: Fridays from 10:30 - 11:30am starting January 30th
Location: Aubrey Watzek Sports Center, Dance Studio
No group session on February 27th.
