Join us to learn about and celebrate the rich tapestry of language that exists at Reed beyond Standard American English. Participants will share personal linguistic experiences, learn about Standard Language Ideology, and critically examine linguistic prejudice in academic and social contexts. To learn from each other's linguistic diversity, you are encouraged to come prepared to actively contribute by presenting linguistic knowledge or personal experiences to your peers. The class will develop deeper understandings of language as a dynamic, personal, and cultural expression and provide a platform for students to share their unique linguistic backgrounds through collaborative sharing and reflection.

Instructor: Aidan Mokalla (Student) and Daniela Buchillon-Almeida (Student)
