About this Event

Do you have a body? Do you like moving that body? Do you like playing pretend? Then you might be interested in learning some viewpoints exercises! Viewpoints is a technique used in a plethora of creative mediums, from dance to physical theatre to animation, and is a way of breaking down time and space into explorable bits. This class will specifically be focused on breaking down these elements for what could be considered “physical theatre,” but could also be considered collaborative physical creation. We will be focusing on different aspects of time and space and how we can explore these aspects collaboratively each class, and conclude with some improvisational collaboration. On Friday, a special guest professional clown will be joining us to lead a clowning workshop!
People can attend as many or as few classes as they like, as they will all be different, but not cumulative. Anyone is welcome, regardless of experience (there is no experience necessary!). I will work to accommodate all accessibility needs. Led by Alice Irvin.
p.s. this workshop is in tandem with the devised thesis performance led by myself and Ara Manoogian, so if you are interested in auditioning for a longer-term creative process in the Spring, this workshop might be a good introduction!
Zoom link to come.
