About this Event
3203 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard, Portland, Oregon 97202-8199
Hosted by Mara McKenzie-Levine, participants will examine the approaches and consequences of federal agencies' reactions to protests from 2020-2026 from both a sociological and on-the-ground perspective. We will discuss the exact methods of political repression that they engage in and what the impacts of that are on both a personal and movement-level. The class will draw on Mara's knowledge as a sociology student writing a thesis on this topic and their personal experiences being arrested and detained by DHS.
