About this Event
Take Back the Night is an annual community event demanding an end to sexual violence, accountability for offenders, and support for survivors. Join us in Eliot Chapel for our annual survivor speak-out: a time for those impacted by sexual violence to have their stories’ heard in supportive community. Stories may be expressed in poems, essays, art collections, and can be read anonymously by a SHARE Peer Advocate. The event will end with a fire pit outside of Eliot Hall for folks to bring a message--a prayer, a curse, a wish, a letter–that they wish to let go of.
By participating in Take Back the Night, we recognize that sexual violence affects all of us, and that it will take all of us to end it. Too often survivors are shamed, blamed, and silenced; we take back the night by uplifting survivor stories and honoring the experiences shared.
