American Councils hosts several intensive study abroad opportunities for students who have completed two semesters of Mandarin Chinese at the university level. The Taiwan Intensive Summer Language Program (TISLP) focuses on providing students from across the country with large language proficiency gains in Mandarin Chinese through classes hosted at several universities in the cities of Tainan, Taipei, and Hsinchu. The program is built to enable and enhance cross-cultural understanding and immersion through small group language instruction, host family stays, and cultural excursions.
