About this Event
This class is a part of the Sustainable Paideia series. Participants will be led in a creative space to create puppets from reclaimed materials from the GCC basement recycling center. The scrap creature puppets we will create will later be featured in Sustainable Reed’s puppet show aiming to raise awareness of PGE’s Harborton Reliability Project. PGE’s revised land-use application filed with the City of Portland proposes to clear cut 4.7 acres of 150+ year old Douglas fir and bigleaf maple trees, and proposes to remove 5 white oak trees estimated to be 170-500 years old, greatly impacting the flora and fauna of Portland’s Forest Park.
Individuals of all experience and knowledge levels are encouraged to sign up to engage in creative reuse, and to learn about the current environmental challenges facing our community.
Class is limited to 15 participants
