About this Event
3203 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard, Portland, Oregon 97202-8199
As we launch into a new year, the Restorative Justice Coalition hopes to be proactive in creating support structures for folks to reach out to and receive help from throughout the upcoming year. This event is planned for Wednesday, October 13th from 3-6pm. Please meet on the lawn south of Eliot Hall to be placed in a group for your circle. We will be starting circles in 30 minute intervals to give people the time and space to participate how they can / need. Light refreshments will be served.
What is our goal?
In response to the 2020-2021 year, the Restorative Justice Coalition wants to create a space to discuss and address the various factors, stories, feelings and needs that contributed to our individual and collective experiences in the past and current year. We aim to establish a space for students, faculty, and staff to share their experiences from the past year, to work together to find resolutions and promote communication, and to foster community by openly addressing the ways we were and continue to be affected by the circumstances the past year amplified or created. We hope to respond to the collective harm experienced by the Reed community and create spaces to be heard and find avenues to support each other in anticipation of the coming year. These circles seek to identify and address the needs of all Reed community members as a result of the pandemic and other stressful factors, and forge avenues promoting community engagement as a process to reduce harm and provide support.
