The Gospel According to YouTube is a performance incorporating text and music. The text is entirely taken from YouTube comments on old gospel hymns, placed into conversation with each other through judicious rearrangement. It is accompanied by a gospel quartet singing those old gospel hymns to create a kind of evangelical jukebox musical. This piece by Lewis Chapman is about religious experiences, religious songs, and the wonderful world inhabited by those who know them.
