From Victoria Woods:
I’ve always been interested in art that captures time in one sense or another. In photography, this could be through capturing an exact moment in one’s personal or broader history, or leaving someone completely bewildered as to when something was captured. The theme of this year’s RAW, Our Reality?, reminded me of this instantly. In my work, I have been drawn to themes of longing, nostalgia, and ambiguity. I have tried to capture this through soft focus black and white photography in New York and New Orleans, but want to expand this project to Portland. I hope that in doing so I can urge people to question how they move through the world, and how this might change (or not) throughout their lives.
