From the artist:
In this project, I want to represent the view that surrounded me on a backpacking trip to Mt. Adams in Washington State. The campsite that I’m focused on has been heavily affected by fires in the area. It was filled with smoke while I was there and has since been significantly burned. I want to form a reinterpretation of the space from my memories and photographs of the trip. The space had a very vibrant energy which has stuck with me and has been filtered in my memory through bright colors. Most of my work focuses on the environment, specifically environmental change and the way energy moves in ecological ways. Most recently, I’ve been using my work to document the impacts of change on personal outdoor spaces and objects.
