#reedcollegeperformingartsPartners on and off stage, dancers Jermaine Spivey and Spenser Theberge plumb their shared history in Rather This, Then—a dialogue of bodies, voices and visual elements that reveals sharp truths about their relationship—sometimes in agreement, sometimes in conflict.
Through their choreographic creations, Theberge and Spivey explore multidisciplinary performances that challenge the traditional role of performer and audience, re-imagining how performances are viewed and how the exchange of information between performer and audience occurs. In this highly physical and highly human work, privacy is made public.
The result is tenderly voyeuristic, an opportunity for viewers to recognize something of themselves in another person.
Admission is free, but reservations are recommended.
