To Feel or Not to Feel: Interception and the Short-term Prediction of Disordered Eating and Self-Harm
Dr. Lisa Velkoff is a clinical psychologist specializing in eating disorders, self-harm, and suicide. She completed her doctorate at Miami University under the mentorship of Dr. April Smith. Her primary line of research focuses on identifying proximal and modifiable risk factors, such as interoceptive impairment, in the short-term prediction of episodes of various forms of self-harm. Lisa's additional research interests include body dissatisfaction, disordered eating and suicide among minority populations, and the development of accessible interventions that can be delivered via phone app or telehealth.
