Unfortunately, little attention is given to work with people traumatized by migration, who almost always have high needs. There is a huge problem of a lack of capacity. It is very possible for people without a formal psychological education to do this work. The Coalition for Work with Psychotrauma and Peace (CWWPP; www.cwwpp.org) and the instructor have been working with such people since 1988. Currently, we work online in a number of parts of the world. We are based in Vukovar, Croatia, a site of one of the first battles of the Balkan wars of the 1990s. This class will seek to give people some basic concepts. People will be encouraged to take the work further. The class is open to students, teachers, staff, alumni, and anyone else within the Reed community. People will be encouraged to share their own migration experiences and their feelings about and knowledge of migration and the current crisis.
