In this class, you will learn how to make daifuku mochi—a traditional Japanese rice cake confection with a core of sweet red bean paste. The ingredients are simple and the outcome is delicious. We will provide a brief history of mochi in Japan and demonstrate a quick, modern method for making mochi at home (or even in a dorm) with limited tools. Green tea will be served. Each participant will get to take home a few mochi. No cooking experience necessary!
