Learn about coats of arms in the Middle Ages and make your own! The display of heraldry was one major aspect of self identification for knights and the nobility in this era. The task of being able to recognize, describe, and record coats of arm became a full time occupation for heralds in the late middle ages, requiring the development of a whole grammatical and linguistic system known as blazoning. In this class, you will learn a brief bit of history about heraldry and its development, how to describe coats of arms, and common conventions before making your own!
