About this Event

This three part workshop will walk participants through the steps to write a competitive research grant proposal and also a personal statement. The presentations and activities will be specifically targeted to students who are considering graduate school in STEM or Social Science fields that are funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), but the research proposal and personal statement are part of a variety of applications so all students can benefit from this workshop. We will use the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF-GRFP) as a template noting similarities and differences for other funding programs. Whether you plan to apply this year or in the future, this is an opportunity to build your grant writing skills and get feedback from faculty and peers. Come prepared to work, share, critique and learn.
Wednesday Sept 8th: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Wednesday Sept 22nd: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Wednesday Oct 6th: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
(If you cannot attend all, come when you can, but note that the NSF-GRFP grants are due Oct 18-22 depending on discipline so getting started soon is critical.)
