The New Faculty Seminar has two goals: (1) to provide important information on being a faculty member at Reed, and (2) to provide a venue for new faculty to share experiences, ask each other questions, seek advice, etc. Colleagues have, in the past, have found the seminar useful on both counts. We encourage you to join.
With each meeting, we offer a short hour of programming, usually semi-structured conversation with more senior faculty or staff with special knowledge of the topic. The final few minutes we leave open for an unstructured check-in.
Many of these seminars should be equally relevant to visitors as to tenure-track faculty, but others lean more to the latter. Visitors should feel free to miss any that do not seem relevant, but are certainly welcome to come to all the seminars.
