Dimension of a Noetherian Ring -
The correspondence between zero sets of polynomials in an affine space and radical ideals of a polynomial ring over a field gives rise to the study of geometry using algebraic tools. In particular, through the Zariski topology, we can transfer our geometric intuition of dimension into an algebraic description. In this talk, we will build such correspondence, define the Krull dimension of a ring, and observe some key properties of dimension of a Noetherian ring.
