March DC Restaurant Club - Bombay Street Food

Bombay Street Food has the usual array of main courses, but what’s special is the array of small-plate appetizers at the top of the menu. Avy Mallik ’07 tells us that the “Indo-Chinese [small plates] from the streets of Bombay” reflect the influence of Chinese and Tibetan refugees in Bengal (whence his own family originated).  Says Avy, “I haven't seen any of these dishes outside of India or the UK—glad to see this cuisine making an appearance here.” The Bombay Palak Chaat features flash-fried spinach reminiscent of Portland’s Whiskey Soda Lounge.

The restaurant is a few minutes' walk from the Columbia Heights Metro Station (yellow/green lines).

RSVP via email to Paul Alan Levy ’72, so that we can grab a big enough table (they don’t take reservations).
