Keyanna Gotay was born in the Bronx, New York but raised in North Carolina. She is a Garifuna of Honduran descent with a BSW. Gotay is the CEO of Brown Sugar & Canela, a clothing line, and is also the founder of Águilas Afro-Latino, a student organization on her alma mater's campus. She has been featured in various articles in which she discusses Afrolatinidad, being Garifuna, Central American diaspora, racism/colorism, and other similar topics. When she's not discussing these topics, she's probably somewhere singing and dancing punta.
