Languages of Truth is a seminar series that examines how the concept of truth persists within literary, aesthetic, and historical discourses, despite sustained arguments that have exposed it as mediated, contingent, and rhetorically framed. We will ask why appeals to a true/false distinctions remain indispensable—and why they have become especially volatile today, amid claims of “post-truth,” strategic disinformation, and the overt monetization of persuasion. Sponsored by the Comparative Literature Program.
Please note: 3/4 event will be held in Trillium Multi-Purpose room, not Gray Lounge.
