About this Event
In this workshop, we will explore the daily morning prayers and find the source for facing toward the Beit HaMikdash in the Talmud, both in the Mishna and Gemara. We will discuss the act of connecting the Shema prayer to the Amidah, the prayer par excellence of Jewish liturgy. We will also use the Shulchan Aruch, the 16th-century compilation of Jewish Law, and the 19th-century Mishna Berurah commentary on it to explore the Kedusha prayer at the center of the Amidah with a very surprising and little-known mystical reference in an ancient Kabbalistic text.
All concepts and Hebrew terms will be explained. The class will be on Zoom, and since the class is interactive, please have your video on.
