Xinlong Du, a first-year PhD student in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University, will host an info-session with Reed students interested in Industrial Engineering. Xinlong graduated from Reed in 2023 with a B.A. in Physics and went on to pursue a Master’s in Statistics and Computer Science at Purdue. He is currently working on variational generative models for point processes, and his broader interests span stochastic processes, learning theory, and differential privacy. Previously, he co-developed the R package SimBaRepro (with Zhanyu Wang and Jordan Awan), which provides simulation-based finite-sample inference for differentially-private data analysis.
