Join fellow Reed alumni for the August Restaurant Club at the Miami-based “healthy-ish” restaurant that opened in Arlington this past April, DIRT. Voted “Best Inexpensive Restaurant” in Miami in 2016, the new Arlington location features breakfast served all day.
The menu offers breakfast sandwiches for both meat lovers and vegans alike, toasts (watermelon-balsamic or avocado being the best), and a variety of salads and bowls that skew vegetarian and vegan, but with meat and fish options, as well. Sandwiches and wraps include lemongrass chicken, a Dirty burger, and a quinoa-crusted salmon po’ boy. Protein add-ons include steak, chicken, salmon, tuna, and adashah (a meat alternative with lentils, chickpeas and flaxseed). Wash it all down with a variety of coffees, teas, vegan “mylkshakes,” juices, beer, wine, and mimosas.
The restaurant’s tagline ought to be “We put the sand in sandwiches,” and they also ought to serve mud pies for dessert!
