Join Gray Fund Arts and Culture on an outing to experience perspectives of Latin American culture through film!
ESTA ISLA (The Island) is one of many films featured in the 2025 Portland Latin American Film Festival at Hollywood Theatre. Set against the backdrop of contemporary Puerto Rico, ESTA ISLA explores the resilience, contradictions, and hopes of a community navigating complex social and cultural realities. With intimate storytelling and powerful imagery, the film portrays an island in constant dialogue with its history and future. ESTA ISLA offers a poignant portrait of Puerto Rican youth caught between desperation and hope. With award-winning cinematography and powerful storytelling, it sheds light on the resilience of a community navigating urgent social realities.
