From Bush v. Gore to the Big Lie: An Intellectual History of Election Administration, Election Law, and Election Denialism
Join us for a conversation with 2024-2026 Andrew Carnegie Fellows Dr. Lisa Bryant and Dr. Mara Suttmann-Lea about how Bush v. Gore sparked the growth of a new field of public facing scholarship to understand election administration and support trust and confidence in the American election system.
Lisa A. Bryant is a professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at California State University, Fresno. Her research on election administration and voter behavior includes studies on voter confidence, voter ID, and how election reforms influence turnout.
Mara Suttmann-Lea is associate professor of American politics at Connecticut College specializing in elections. Their work is driven by an interest in strengthening access to and confidence in American democracy, and ensuring all those who wish to participate in the democratic process have the correct information needed to do so.
Free and open to the public. Sponsored by the political science department and the Elections & Voting Information Center and the Elizabeth J. Ducey and Alta S. Corbett funds.
