The everyday camp field guide highlights three elements of camp that have tended to fall out of recent criticism on this mode, the art of queer parody: camp’s loving dimensions, its non-professional incarnations, and the ways in which those non-professional incarnations are performed by quotidian subjects. Emphases on nonce, eccentric, and idiosyncratic performances of everyday camp demonstrate the value to camp criticism of meditations on the local, the particular, and the personal.
