Denim Day is a campaign on a Wednesday in April where folks wear denim to demonstrate support for survivors and challenge myths supporting sexual violence. The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court in 1999, where a rape conviction was overturned after the judges ruled that the jeans worn by the victim were too tight to not have been removed by the victim–thereby implying consent. The day following the ruling, women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.

Come by our table outside the GCC to add your patch to our Denim Quilt and show your allied support for survivors.
