About this Event
In this class, we will be exploring aspects of American Sign Language and the Deaf American community. Classes are not ordered, and each class will cover a different topic (with the exception of the ASL Basics class, which will occur twice). In our ASL Basics class, we will learn basic signs and grammar in ASL. In our Deaf History class, we will understand the origin and development of American Sign Language and the history of Deaf education in the US. In our Modern Deaf Culture class, we will look at modern issues regarding Deaf community and intersectional identities.
Instructor: Owen Fidler (Student) and Carys John (Student)
