Come to the home of Julia Selker ’15 to discuss The Library Book over tea and snacks!
Susan Orlean explores what libraries are all about, whether they're burning to the ground, expanding their homeless services, or bringing families together. The Library Book is a perfect read for crisp fall weather and dark, early-winter evenings. The writing is clever and fanciful and the subject matter is near and dear to the Reedie heart. Even the most well-read library fans will find new ideas in this book about the roles libraries play in their communities. This book club event is timed strategically with the holidays so you can pass the book on after you've read it—the perfect gift.
Getting there: The Rhode Island stop on the red line metro is a straightforward 10 to 15 minute walk from the house, and many bus lines stop nearby. There is always parking within a few blocks, and we can accommodate bikes in the backyard!
