About this Event
This presentation will characterize, identify, and then investigate a generation spanning 'malaise' I believe is found in numerous facets of contemporary culture. It's the goal of my presentation to formally communicate this condition, its origins and the ways it has affected Gen-Z and America at large before looking at some potential solutions. We'll be looking at art, literature, humor, religion, politics and many other things through the writings and theories of a host of critical theorists including but not limited to Mark Fisher, Guy Debord and Umberto Eco. The two lectures will be a loose 40-50 minutes or so with time for discussion and will deal with mental health and other adjacent heavy topics.
This class is a 2 part series.
