Garbled Circuits: What they are and what they are good for -
In this talk I will describe Garbled Circuits, a technique for doing secure multiparty computation, in which two parties would like to compute some function on their private inputs without revealing anything about their inputs besides what can be learned from the function output. I will cover the basic Garbled Circuit construction alongside several optimizations, in a way that hopefully gets across the core ideas of the approach to those with no prior knowledge in the area. I will end with some novel uses of Garbled Circuits that we are exploring at Galois.
