In order to help protect the health of event participants and our community, Reed College is following the advice of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding mass gatherings and large community events. Some programs and events at Reed may be canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 prevention efforts.
Prior to attending an event, we strongly encourage you to check Reed’s events calendar at events.reed.edu for status updates. Questions? Please contact the conference & events planning office at 503-777-7522.
How will you impact climate and social justice? Come learn more about the efforts of POC community leaders who are working to advance environmental justice in their communities and beyond. The panel will also be discussing the intersectional nature of environmental activism, and the importance of centering communities of color in climate activism. Together, we will discuss current concerns, strategies, and radical hopes for the future through each panelist’s relative experience working for organizations like Renew Oregon, Growing Gardens, the City of Portland, and OHSU.
This panel will be moderated by Danielle Jones, STEM pathways program coordinator, OHSU and will include:
Shilpa Joshi (Organizing Director, Renew Oregon)
