As we close out this year of online classes and anticipate the return to in-person instruction for the coming academic year, Allison Blizzard (Director of International Programs) would like to invite you to a discussion about one way we can use our newly-gained knowledge of virtual learning to expand global opportunities at Reed. Collaborative online international learning (COIL) is one type of virtual mobility that is typically no-cost and relatively easy to implement. Basically, Reed faculty can connect a course (or certain units/assignments) to that of their international counterparts. The collaboration occurs between institutions, between faculty, and between students, with benefits to all groups. Please check out this 3-minute video to learn more about the basic concept behind COIL.
If you’d like to join in the discussion, please register HERE for this interactive workshop. (Please register if you are interested, even if you are not able to attend the workshop. We will be recording the session and will share that with all. In addition, Allison is happy to work with you on an individual basis before or after the workshop. Please feel free to reach out to her.)
