Ever wanted to crush your opponents in chess but didn’t have the time to learn or didn’t know where to get started? This class will have two sections. The beginner section, held twice (Wed./Thu.), will be a speedrun of practical chess basics, briefly reviewing the rules and introducing checkmates, basic endgames, tactics, opening principles, and what the path to improvement looks like. The open section (Fri.) invites all levels of experience from the newly initiated to the advanced to come together to practice or play, with a Q&A and review on the side addressing chess questions of any kind.
