Join CLBR staff and Reed alum, Tom Weaver Vice President in the private equity and financial industry. 

Tom graduated from Reed in 2006 with a degree in history. Following Reed, he joined the JET Program and spent 3.5 years living in Japan, learning Japanese, and traveling throughout SE Asia. In 2010 he started a graduate degree in finance at the Brandeis International Business School where he graduated with a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance. This led to an early career in financial consulting at Deloitte and KPMG in NYC. He transitioned from consulting to investment management in 2015 when he joined Apollo Global Management’s private valuations team. In 2016, Tom moved to London and spent the next 6 years working in private credit at Ares Management, RoundShield Partners, and Blackstone.

Tom now leads the European Capital Formation efforts for Blackstone’s European funds, having recently executed c. $2.5bn in financing transactions to support the firm’s strategies. During the session, students interested in pursuing a career in financial services will have the opportunity to learn about industry standards, expectations and hiring practice necessary for obtaining internship and analyst positions. Blackstone as a firm is focused on private equity, real estate, public debt and equity, infrastructure, life sciences, growth equity, opportunistic, non-investment grade credit, real assets and secondary funds, all on a global basis.
