Brazil is a huge country with an absolute myriad of world class avian habitats of which the state of Bahia is one example. This Paideia class will start with a short introduction to birding in general, then it will provide a description of Bahia's special place in the world for many families of birds. In hopes that some attendees might actually go to Bahia, there will be a section on the several most obvious species and hopefully -- their vocalizations. Finally, the class will present ENDEMIC species of Bahia/Brazil, severely threatened species, and some major targets of an upcoming trip to Bahia.
