Dr. Anna Ritz is an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Reed College. Her research explores different ways to model biological systems using computers, concentrating on how diseases such as cancer affect these systems.

"Computational Biology at Reed: Where We Are and Where We Are Headed"

Current and former Reed students have been instrumental in establishing computational biology over the past six years.  In this talk, Anna will describe the connection between systems biology and computer science, their recent work at the intersection of these two fields, and other new projects that connect researchers across disciplines.  This bird's-eye view of computational biology at Reed will set the stage for future directions and student involvement in collaborations, research, and scientific communication.
