Over the past decade, Dr. Corman has committed themself to improving healthcare access for LGBTQ individuals, drawing from their own experiences as a gender non-binary, queer person. Starting as a grad student, they identified gaps in LGBTQ health research beyond HIV, leading them to explore this more with a PhD at UC Berkeley. As a faculty member at OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, they pioneered research on transgender and gender diverse folks and birth outcomes for LGBTQ people. Leaving academia to join FOLX in 2023, they now lead LGBTQ affirming care research and analytics. This talk will cover the evolution of LGBTQ health research, their contributions, and career paths in academia and health tech.
Jae Downing Corman, PhD, MS, is the head of analytics at FOLX Health, a health service specializing in providing comprehensive care with a LGBTQIA+ care team with extensive experience in caring for the trans community.
