Down the micropore: an experimental chase to follow rain into twigs

Imagine the fate of a drop of rain landing on a twig deep in the forest canopy. It might drip off or evaporate, but can it be absorbed? With a series of 5 experiments - including isotopic and fluorescent tracers, microCT, thermal imaging and kinetics - we tell a biophysical story of what happens when rain meets twig. But this is also a tale of the chase itself, how one experiment leads to another, and the fun of following crazy ideas where they lead.
