About this Event
Have you been curious about how a fellow Reedie of color navigated the transition from Reed into the post-graduate world? Then this event is for you! The Collective Voices Series returns for the spring with an event that was planned in collaboration with Alumni Programs & Annual Fund. We are pleased to host several alumni of color on this panel, who have gone on to pursue paths in both academia and the professional world.
Our confirmed panelists include:
Giancarlo Bruni ’11 – has a Ph.D. in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology and is currently completing a post-doc with the Kruglyak Lab at UCLA
Miles Crumley ’07 – received a Master of Science in psychology and systems science at PSU, and is currently a senior operations analyst with TriMet here in Portland
Carmen García Durazo ’11 – is a supervising producer for the television and film production company Left/Right, currently working on a six-episode series for Epix on the Iran-Contra affair
Tina Sohaili ’07 – is an attorney for the US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights where she enforces federal anti-discrimination laws at educational institutions
Sherry Tiao ’09 – is a marketer for databases and data science for Oracle
This is an informal event; it is a space for you to ask your questions and meet alumni who have similar interests as you do. There will be time at the end of the panel for you to connect with our individual panelists if you wish to do so. If you have any questions or requests for accommodations, please reach out to rajsheka@reed.edu.
