Virtual Faculty Talk at FAR with Paul Gronke
, professor of political science and director of the Early Voting Information Center (EVIC), will be giving the talk titled "Making a Difference and Getting Published While You Do It: How Academic Research Helps To Assure A Safe, Secure, and Accessible American Elections System."
The Early Voting Information Center was established in 2004 as a non-partisan research and policy center to explore what was, at the time, new and innovative methods of casting a ballot. Since then, EVIC has grown to be nationally recognized as one of only a handful of academic centers that engage with election officials, policymakers, and advocates to help assure a fair, equitable, and secure election system in the United States.
Professor Paul Gronke will talk about the evolution of EVIC, some of their current research projects, and highlight the work they are doing in 2020 to try to offset efforts to suppress votes and sow misinformation about American democracy.
