So if it’s May it must be time to visit Brooklyn! Please join us for the May 2018 Reed Get Together on May 22nd at 7 PM at The Commodore, which has, according to New York Magazine, “Kitschy cocktails and what may be the best cheap bar food in town, including some of the very best fried chicken.”, all at VERY reasonable prices!
The Commodore is at 366 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11211 in Williamsburg, and serves Cajun/Creole and American Traditional! As the magazine states, “The usual contingent of tattooed locals come here for the cheap beer and the kitschy cocktails (the house drink is a piña colada with an amaretto float). But for us, Stephen Tanner’s cooking is the thing…The fried chicken—three substantial thighs to a plate, with hot sauce, mini-biscuits, and honey butter—is hot and juicy, with a craggy crust that crackles when you chomp into it, the way a good croissant does. The hot breast sandwich, not to mention the hot fish, are as incendiary as advertised. There’s also a fully-loaded classic burger, an irresistible pimento-poblano grilled cheese, and, if you’re following doctor’s orders, some relatively dietetic options like stewed black-eyed peas and kale ladled over corn bread.”
So please join us for the Reed New York City Get Together on May 22nd at 7:00 PM at the Commodore! Come by to eat, chat, visit, and discuss the alumni chapter and future events! RSVP if you wish to Brian Graham-Jones at email@example.com. See you there!
