Attending a Chamber Music Northwest Summer Festival concert is so much more than just hearing a concert. Chamber Music Northwest creates an environment for great chamber music to exist at its best in Portland, and to experience it in a fun and casual five-week festival that is approachable, accessible, and affordable.
Chamber music is often called “the music of friends” and part of what makes our festival experience so unique is our audiences enjoying the dress-down atmosphere of informal summer picnics on the picturesque grounds of Reed College and Portland State University, or a friendly dinner out downtown before relishing in a rich variety of chamber music available in the Northwest!
Be sure to make your festival experience complete with some of these activities and events:
Pre-concert Picnics at Reed College
A favorite festival tradition, our picnics make for an ideal pre-concert experience! Purchase on site at Reed College or bring your own. Note: There are no pre-concert picnics before Winter Festival concerts.
Pre- and Post-Concert Dining near Portland State
Join us for exceptional dining at our CMNW Restaurant Partners Nel Centro and Higgin’s, just a short walk from Lincoln Hall.
Musical Conversations before most Summer Festival concerts
A free conversation with the artists at 6:30 pm before Monday and Tuesday concerts to gain an unmatched perspective on the music from the very musicians playing it! Note: There are no musical conversations on July 10 or 11.
Join the musicians for our behind-the-scenes glimpse of how they work together.
